Why we use Alvys
Arko Trans runs its dispatch and load management through Alvys, a transportation management system (TMS). The Alvys Driver Companion app is your side of it — it puts your assigned loads, check-ins, paperwork, and pay right on your phone, so dispatch doesn't have to call and read you stop details over the phone.
This orientation covers logging in, reading your trip list, checking in and out at stops, uploading documents, and getting paid — everything you need for your first dispatched load.
Installing & logging in
- Download the app. Search "Alvys" in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and install Alvys: Driver Companion.
- Check your device. You'll need Android 8 or newer, or iOS 15 or newer. If you see "This app won't work for your device," your OS is too old or the device has been modified (rooted/jailbroken).
- Open the app and enter your cell phone number. Your phone number is your login — there's no separate username or password to create.
- Accept the app's permissions (location, camera, notifications) when prompted, so check-ins, document photos, and dispatch alerts all work correctly.
Your status & your trips
In the top-left corner of the app is a toggle for Online or Offline. This is how dispatch knows whether you're available for a load.
You're actively working and available for assignments. Dispatch can see you and assign trips.
You're on break or off the clock. Dispatch won't assign you new loads.
Your home screen lists your assigned and upcoming trips, each showing pickup/delivery locations, scheduled times, and any special instructions. Tap a trip to open its full Load Details.
Checking in, checking out, and getting there
- Getting close? Once you're within about 10 miles of a pickup or delivery facility, update your status in the app to check in — this notifies dispatch and the facility automatically.
- Check out when you're done at that stop, the same way, so the load status moves forward for everyone tracking it.
- Tap to navigate. Tap the Navigate icon on any stop and the app hands off to your preferred navigation app (Google Maps, Apple Maps, or CoPilot if you have it) with the address already loaded.
Uploading your paperwork
Bills of Lading, Proof of Delivery, and accessorial receipts all get uploaded right from the load in the app — no need to text or email photos to anyone.
- Open the load you're working on from your trip list.
- Go to the Documents tab inside that load.
- Tap Upload to start adding a document.
- Choose Camera or Gallery — take a new photo or pick an existing one.
- Make sure the document is clearly visible in the frame before you capture it, then submit.
Getting paid & getting help
View your past paystubs and pay history right in the app — no need to wait for a mailed copy.
An e-check is a digital payment code issued against a load. Redeem it at participating truck stops and fuel desks just like a Comcheck.
Your OS is too old, unsupported, or the device is rooted/jailbroken. You'll need a supported device to run the app.
Almost always means your driver profile isn't set up in Alvys yet. Call dispatch, don't just keep retrying.
Quick knowledge check
You need all 10 correct to complete your orientation. Get one wrong and just try it again — no need to redo the whole quiz.
